Gunmen, at about 2am on Friday, May 28 attacked Umutu Police Divisional Headquarters in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State.
The gunmen killed two police constables who were on night duty.
According to information, no arms and ammunition were stolen from the station.
It was further learnt that the gunmen also stormed Ndemili Police Station in the same axis and wrecked havoc on the facilities, but no life was reportedly lost at the station.
When contacted for comments at about 7:13am, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali said, ”No comments for now. I’m doing something for now.”
The Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe did not pick calls, and did not respond to text messages sent to him for confirmation of the report.
As at the time filings this report, there is serious tension in Umutu and Ndemili communities.
