The Amayanabo of Twon Brass, King Alfred Diete-Spiff, has fled his palace after angry youths of the community attacked his palace during a protest against Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC).

The youths who were protesting against protracted power outages, NAOC’s delay to pay indigenous contractors, and the company’s failure to meet its corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the community, stormed the palace in their numbers.

The palace was ransacked by the angry youths who operated unhindered.

The protest started on Sunday, May 16, and lasted to Tuesday before degenerating into a fight where some youths hijacked the rally and attacked the monarch’s palace.

The monarch was whisked away by his security details.
