
A joint security operatives comprising of the army, police, DSS, local vigilante groups and youths of Abraka community have uncovered a hideout of herdsmen who have been terrorising farmers at Abraka forest reserve.
According to a report by Urhobo Today, the Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State led the security operatives in search of the killer herdsmen.
The operation to locate and apprehend the herdsmen lasted for several hours, with the suspects engaging the security operatives in a gun battle before they were finally subdued.
The suspects, according to a report, confessed their heinous acts to the police.
The news of the arrest of the herdsmen was said to have brought relief to Abraka community, as farmers and others were unable to venture to the forest to ply their trades on account of murderous activities of herdsmen who kill, maim and rape women without remorse.
