
Peace and Environment Rights Advocate, Comrade (Chief) Mulade Sheriff has again, sent a public private bill to the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa; this time, for establishment of Delta State Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Agency aimed at promoting and sustaining peaceful coexistence in Delta State.
Comrade Sheriff, who is the Ibe-Sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West LGA of Delta State, presented the public private bill to the state government at the state capital, Asaba March, 24.
He appealed to Governor Okowa to see the importance of the Agency to the promotion and sustenance of peaceful coexistence and unity among the various ethnic groups and other residents of the state towards attracting the desired development.


He also forwarded a copy of the bill to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Chief Sheriff Oborovwori and appealed to his colleagues to give a speedy passage of the bill seeking to establish the Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention Agency.
He acknowledged that the state government’s programmes and policies of peacebuilding and conflict resolutions are laudable initiatives and efforts by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa; but said there are still some gaps in the efforts at sustaining peaceful coexistence and unity among communities and ethnic groups in the state.
Comrade Mulade strongly appealed to Governor Okowa to give the bill accelerated consideration in view of its huge potential for peaceful coexistence and unity in the state.
