Friends and colleagues have taken to Facebook to mourn a young woman identified as Onyinye Odo, who reportedly died after a gas explosion at her job location.

Although details surrounding her death are still sketchy, it was however gathered that Onyinye succumbed to severe burns she sustained from the explosion.

One Edah Mmesoma, who confirmed the story on Wednesday, March 3, said the explosion happened at her place of work.

A gas engineer and entrepreneur; Ndubuisi Ochei, reacting to the tragic death of Onyinye; has called on Nigerians to be more careful in handling gas – both domestic and industrial as the product is highly inflammable and portends serious explosive hazards.

He also called on government and energy regulatory agencies to embark on road shows and other aggressive publicity on safe use of cooking and industrial gases.
