According to the convener of the event; Chief (Comrade) Mulade Sheriff, the postponement was in compliance with the federal government’s directive on large gatherings.

Comrade Mulade said; “The postponement was a painful decision [taken] by the organizing committee to adhear strictly to the federal government’s instruction on COVID-19”.

He noted that the organizers were expecting a massive turnout of over twenty thousand sons and daughters of Ijaw Nation, others from Delta State and the Niger-Delta Region to grace the epic occasion in Bomadi, Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State.

While expressing regrets over the postponement and inconveniences this might have caused guests and the general public, Chief Mulade said it is important that we protect ourselves and others by staying safe on account of the Covid-19 pandemic.
