Two persons including a Warri-based music artiste identified as Starboy Fizzy have reportedly died by suicide in Effurun area of Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that Starboy Fizzy died by suicide following rumour that he had planned to use his mother for ritual.

The incident happened early Thursday at Alegbo area of Effurun after he reportedly consumed a substance suspected to be ‘sniper’.

Starboy Fizzy released several songs including “Fire” and “oil dey my head” which he recorded with MBA records.

The songs enjoyed massive airplay, according to reports.

The rumour that he had planned to use his mum for ritual purpose was said to have forced the deceased into depression.

Sources claimed some residents made mockery of him over the allegation.

Meanwhile, another tragic incident occurred along Uti Road, close to Alegbo also in Effurun, with the deceased hanging himself to a ceiling fan hook in his apartment.

The deceased, a father of four, was learnt to have died over his inability to offset debts to some persons.

The late young man simply identified as Mimi died last Saturday, January 23, in his residence located along Uti Road.

A source said his wife discovered him hanging on his belt in their sitting room.

However, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, when contacted said none of the cases was reported at its division in the locality.
