Okpanam community in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State was thrown into mourning Thursday, as a 60-year-old woman identified as Mrs Okenyi who was declared missing on Tuesday, January 19, after she went to her farm and did not return home was found hanging on a tree.
A source said, the woman’s bag containing her farm implements was also found lying by the tree.
The mother of two was said to be always going to her farm which is far from where her body was found.
The source added; “I do not believe this woman killed herself. The ropes look too short and her legs are too close to the ground.
“It is possible that someone killed her and came to hang her on this tree.”
According to the source, the corpse had since been deposited in a mortuary.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya was yet to make comment on the incident at the time of filing this report.
