The All Progressive Congress (APC), Delta State has received a boost as a prominent Okpe son, Chief Mark Efe Ugborotu; the Ologen of Okpe Kingdom has dumped PDP and joined the APC with his teeming supporters.

Chief Ugborotu, a businessman and a philanthropist, in a statement said he had to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for APC because of the All Progressive Congress grassroot programmes and aspirations.

Chief Ugborotu in a statement made available to Realtime.ng said the PDP government has failed woefully in his obligation to Okpe people, Deltans and Nigerians in general.

The High Okpe Chief pledged to use his office and contacts to create a better and sustainable life for the people through effective representation and good governance.

He bemoaned the lack of development in Okpe and Delta State under the corrupt and inept PDP administration – in spite of the state’s huge natural and human resources, and the humongous federal allocations.

Chief Ugborotu said he will liaise with the appropriate federal authorities, as well as state and local politicians, royalties, youths and opinion leaders to channel meaningful development and empowerment programmes to the people of Okpe and Delta State.
