Aggrieved youths yesterday took to the roads in Warri, Delta State to protest the non-creation of Wards by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC).

The protesting youths blocked the old port road to Okere junction in Warri South Local Government Area, causing traffic build-up which lasted for several hours.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the protest said the youths are protesting the non-creation of Wards in Warri South Local Government Area of the state.

Recently, Delta State Independent Electoral Commission disclosed that it has created thirty-four wards across the three senatorial districts of the state.

Efforts by Realtime.ng to get comments from the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, Dr Michael Tidi on the issue have not been successful.
