A commercial vehicle belonging to Agofure Transport Line has reportedly killed two persons on a motorcycle along Owhelogbo Road in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Realtime.ng gathered that the two men were coming from a village where they went to buy a goat when they met their end.

A source in the community told our reporter that due to the barricade of the Oleh road by protesters over the killing of ten Oleh indigenes, most commuters opted to travel through Owhelogbo to cut off Oleh town.

He added that as most of the drivers were “not familiar with the road which is narrow and has many sharp bends – coupled with the carelessness of the Agofure driver, the vehicle rammed into the victims, killing them with the goat on the spot”.

It was also gathered that the youths of the community, irked by the incident set the bus ablaze.

Recall that Realtime.ng reported the murder of ten persons, allegedly by Ozoro indigenes over a parcel of land said to be rich in crude oil.

A source said; “the people of Oleh are angry because nothing has been done about the murder of our people. To add insult to injury, a prominent politician in the area secured the release of the suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder without proper reconciliation. That is the reason for blocking the road to let the authorities know that Oleh people are angry with the whole thing”.

The incident left commuters stranded in the ever-busy Ughelli-Asaba road.

Efforts are still on to reach the Police Public Relations Officer of Delta State Police Command on the incident.
