The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspects allegedly involved in the roasting and eating of the flesh of police officers burnt during the #EndSARS protest.
Confirming the arrest, spokesman of the Oyo State Police Command, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, said that the suspects were arrested on Saturday, November 21, in the Ibadan metropolis.
The suspects, a 43-year-old man and 34-year-old expectant mother, has been reportedly transferred to the Force Intelligence Bureau at the Force Headquarters in Abuja for further investigation, as disclosed by SP Fadeyi.
The woman was alleged to have eaten some body parts of one of the police victims, an allegation which she denied as she claimed she was at the scene, but the body parts were given to her by the male suspect for keeping.
Meanwhile, the male suspect in a statement said that the woman voluntarily took the body parts and only asked him for handkerchief or towel to wrap the body parts the officers.
The deceased policemen were deployed to calm the #EndSARS protest on October 22, which was allegedly hijacked by hoodlums when they met their deaths.
