The member representing Ughelli South Constituency in the Delta House of Assembly, Hon. Reuben Izeze has threatened to drag the former Minister of State (Education), Chief Kenneth Gbagi to court for falsely accusing him as a brain behind the spiral nude photographs of four workers of Signatious Hotel, Effurun, who were allegedly molested and stripped on the orders of Chief Gbaji for stealing five thousand naira from the hotel.
It was also alleged that the ATM cards of the workers were seized from them and withdrawals made by the hotel management.
The development led to public outcry, prompting human right activists to stage protests and raiding of the hotel (Signatious) by the Police.
Speaking on phone with our sister online news network; NewsNet, Izeze said, he does not want to join issues with Gbagi in the media – saying that he hopes to meet him in court on the false accusation.
“I have briefed my lawyers on the matter and they shall respond appropriately,” Izeze said.
Chief Kenneth Gbaji, who is also a lawyer, had in a press conference held on Saturday at his Oginibo country home, Ughelli South Local Government Area, alleged that the Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Peter Mrakpor and Hon. Reuben Izeze, were the brains behind the false accusation.
Chief Gbagi who is a Delta State governorship aspirant in the 2023 race, said Mrakpor started troubles for him with the intention to discredit him as “not the right person.”
While noting that he had attracted developments to his hometown and other neighbouring communities, Gbaji said the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice believes he is the greatest threat to his governorship ambition in the area. “Hence, he will go to any length politically.”
It was gathered that two weeks ago, an audio clip where the former Minister of State for Education allegedly accused Reuben Izeze, of murder and sponsoring thuggery surfaced on social media.
In the audio recording, Gbagi was alleged to have accused Izeze of slurring the image of Oginibo town; claiming that he sent the lawmaker to the House of Assembly and had just discovered that he has “no character”.
