Tortoise allegedly involved in auto accident in Kebbi

A 75-year old tortoise in Argungu, Kebbi State, who was allegedly ran over by a pick-up van and parts of its shell broken has received priority medical attention as ‘gifted hands’ from the department of Surgery and Radiology, FVM, UDUS, Sokoto, spent a whole day on the patient. The shell was fixed using circlage wire and screws.

The 75-year-old patient has since returned back to Argungu.

The achievement has lightened up the atmosphere at Veterinary Clinic Sokoto; and perhaps, has accentuated the saying by Mahatma Gandhi that ‘the greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated’.
