The executives of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and youth council for ward one and two in Mosogar kingdom of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State have received three Toyota Siena vehicles to strengthen the party in the area.

The vehicles and varied cash amounts were donated to the executives of the two wards and other stakeholders in the kingdom by the PDP leadership of Mosogar kingdom led frontline politician in Delta State, Chief Ighoyota Amori supported by the State Commissioner for Environment, Mr Christian Onogba.

Speaking at the event, the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ben Igbakpa who described the donations as pace-setting in the history of the party in the council area attributed the developments in Mosogar Kingdom to the unity of purpose of the people.

The atmosphere at the Mosogar country home of Chief Amori which was the venue for the handing over ceremony of the three vehicles, reminds one of the popular saying that, “To whom much is given, much is expected.”

Hon. Ben Igbakpa, who is the incumbent representative of Ethiope Federal Constituency, presented the keys and particulars of the vehicle for ward one including a cash of One Hundred Thousand Naira to the leadership of the ward.

His predecessor, Hon Lovette Idisi presented that of ward two while former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Anthony Akpomiemie, who leads the Jesse Equity Group, handed over that of Mosogar Youth Council to the leadership.

Chief Amori said members of the PDP in Mosogar Kingdom since 1999 has remained consistent and resolute in their support and votes for the party.

He acknowledged that the support of the people has equally not been taken for granted by the party which has also ensured that the kingdom gets its fair share of democratic dividends.

Chief Amori, who is currently the Chairman, Asaba Capital Territory Development Agency, revealed that the donated vehicles and varied cash amounts which were distributed as palliatives to the different strata of the kingdom are geared towards enhancing the strength and fortunes of the party.

For his part, the State Commissioner for Environment, Mr Christian Onogba harped on the need for political office holders to always bear in mind that power is transient and that whatever position they are holding, they are holding it in trust for the people.

He said the gesture aims to give the party faithful sense of belonging and get them favourably disposed to future elections.

Hon. Igbakpa and Pastor Champion Kpatague praised the unity of purpose that exists amongst the party faithful in Mosogar one and two.

They commended Chief Amori for his commitment to the growth of the PDP, peace and development of Mosogar Kingdom.

The Chairman, PDP Ethiope West Local Government Area, Mr Solomon Obareki noted that the party has been further encouraged by the gesture promising that it will spur members to be more committed to the success of the party.

For some ardent followers of the politics of Delta State, the three Toyota Siena vehicles donated by the PDP leadership of Mosogar Kingdom led by Chief Ighoyota Amori and ably supported by Mr Christian Onogba to the Mosogar ward one and two as well as Mosogar Youth Council was a welcome development.

To many, this type of gesture which the party faithful from both wards usually benefit from time to time accounts for the continued domination of the political space of the kingdom by the ruling PDP in the state which in turn translates always into electoral victories for the party.

Mosogar Kingdom in Ethiope West Local Government Area has since 1999 been the stronghold of the PDP.

It is expected that gestures and palliatives of this nature which are rolled out by the Chief Ighoyota Amori led leadership of the PDP in the area would spur the people to surpass their previous votes for the party in future elections.
