
The Delta State government on Monday advised Chairmen of Local Government Council in the state to embark on projects that would be beneficial to the people at the grassroots.
The Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Hon Chika Ossai gave the advice while inaugurating the Owa-Alizomor community market in Ika North East Local Government Area.
Hon Chika Ossai while commending the Ika North East local government Chairman Bar Victor Eboka for the successful building of the market adding that Senator Ifeanyi Okowa administration will continue to attract meaningful projects to the people at the grassroots.
He said the market will serve the people of the area and urged them to make judiciously use of the market.
The Trade and investments who stated that construction of markets is the primary function of local government added that over the years the state government has been building market on intervention fund and handle over the local government for allocation and management.

While thanking the Governor for the provision of peaceful atmosphere for local government to thrive said his administration has embarked on several vita projects which includes expansion of Ebu Owa market, grading of some community earth road and construction of Boji Boji international market.
The Owa monarch, His Royal Majesty Obi Emmanuel Effeizormor the second expressed joy for timely construction of the market which according to him will help to decongest the overpopulated Ebu Owa market.
The commissioner also on Monday inspected the ongoing Aloshimi modern market and Boji Boji international market in Ika North East local government Area.
